David Multon achieves his LRPS

It was eighteen months ago that fellow club members Bob Arthur and Duncan Jennings suggested that my prints were of distinction quality and that they would help me to apply to the Royal Photographic Society to achieve this. They suggested that I go for a Licentiateship – an LRPS and would help me to create a panel of 10 prints. I was amazed as such an idea had never entered my head and until then I had no intention of doing anything like that.
We put a panel together and then I made contact with the RPS to ask for help from a member of their Panel of Judges. They put me in touch with Trevor Gellard in Shoreham. Another Club member, Alan Thompson, then came to help as well and we took 20 prints to Trevor who then changed the panel which surprised us. Several prints had to be re-done and Alan helped considerably in this exercise. I did point out to Trevor that I already had a panel of 10 prints but really wanted to know if he thought they were good enough. To my relief he said that they were.
We then had to wait several months for the assessment which took place at the RPS in Bath. Alan came with us on July 30 where my panel was discussed and kicked all round the room. However, I made it and am now thrilled to be an LRPS!
