Competition entries
All competitions, both PDI and Print, are entered by using
PhotoEntry to upload images.
You will have been sent details of how to log-on to this
system when you joined the club. If you need further assistance, contact Martin
Melesi, dcccomps@yahoo.com
It is possible to load images to
PhotoEntry for competitions up to eight weeks in advance.
In general, for the 2026 - 2027
season, the PhotoEntry deadline is 23:59 on the Thursday preceding the
competition. If circumstances make it necessary, this may be modified for any
competition by a general email to club members to bring the deadline forward.
Late entries will not be
accepted, except in extremely unusual circumstances, beyond the control of the
entrant.
Prints are to be brought to the
hall by 19:30 on the day of the competition. The PDI associated with the
Print must be the same image.
MARKING AND FORMATTING OF ENTRIES
Uploading images to PhotoEntry
Images must be uploaded to
PhotoEntry for each of the competitions by the required deadline. If any member
experiences any technical issues or has any queries, they are to contact the Competition
Secretary on dcccomps@yahoo.com
All images MUST be uploaded into
PhotoEntry by the given deadline. Once the deadline is passed the competition
section on PhotoEntry is closed and no more entries will be allowed.
Under very exceptional
circumstances, you may contact the Competition Secretary to request a late entry.
A late entry may be possible provided the competition material has NOT already been
processed.
IMPORTANT: It is the
Member’s responsibility to ensure they upload their entries into the correctcompetition and folder, as changes to the entries cannot be changed
once this competition deadline has passed.
All images uploaded must have a
Title. Any that are missing the Title will not be accepted and may be removed
from the competition.
Do not include your name
with the title. PhotoEntry will know it is your entry.

Mounted Prints
o
Prints must be mounted to a permitted maximum
mount size of 500mm x 400mm. For ease of handling in the use of competition
mounts 500mm x 400mm is preferred but the mount should be no smaller than 400mm
x 300mm. Mounts can be square up to 400mm x 400mm.
o
The image can be any size within the maximum
mount size, but we suggest no smaller than A4 (210mm x 297 mm), or 300mm x 300mm
if square.
o
All mounted prints must include a firm backing
board.
o
The back of all mounts must be free of any
sticky substance that might damage other prints.
o
A Club label giving full details (Title,
Entrants Name and Competition as a Minimum) must be attached to the back of the
mount, together with an arrow pointing to the top edge.
o
Rectilinear or square unmounted prints on paper
up to A3 (297 mm x 420 mm) in size may be submitted for competition.
o
To allow for the placement of magnets. The
unmounted print must have a boarder of at least 20mm
o
Members who enter such prints are asked to write
their names and titles close to the edge of the images (at the back of the
white borders) so they cannot be seen in the strong light from the presentation
easel when they are reviewed by the judge.
