CRITIQUE NIGHTS

Images Entered into the Following May Be Reused in Internal Club Competitions

There are three critique nights a year refer to the see the programme for the dates.

Open subject
Members may enter two images
Critique by class
Critique by an external judge
Prints and PDI may be submitted for critique.
As these images will be potentially used in internal competitions all the AI rules still apply.
These are not competitions, but a guest judge will talk about your submission and offer positive feedback.  These critiques are essential whether or not you want to enter competitions, as it will help develop your skill as a photographer and is an important step in the learning process.
The judge will be asked to think about the challenge of a good title. Have you succeeded in choosing a good title for your entry having considered the following
  • Do consider carefully the title you use - will the judge understand it?
  • Will it help the judge to judge the picture?
  • Will it mislead the judge into trying to judge something which is not in the image?
A critique is only two hours long. The club aims to show all the first priority images and as many of the second priority images as possible within the critique evening. However, it may not be possible to show all the second priority images. Members can learn independently by trying to guess what the judge may say about image that is not their own.
PhotoEntry submission process for critique evenings
Enter 2 Images into the section on PhotoEntry.
You can enter either a PDI or a Print or one of each.
So, for example, you could enter any of the following
1 x PDI and 1 x Print
2 x PDIs
2 x Prints
Even for Prints, you will need to upload into PhotoEntry and with Priority numbering.
You MUST include a priority number in front of the title.
