How much is the annual membership?

The membership fee for 2024/25 is £65 and includes tea/coffee each week

Can I visit to see if I like the club?

Yes, of course. Please come a couple of times to see if you like us. We meet at St Joseph’s Hall, Falkland Grove, Dorking, RH4 3DL from 7.45pm each Monday evening. Please complete the contact form so we know to expect you.

Do you have Social meetings?

We have an Annual Awards & Supper evening each year, plus a Chrismas dinner and a Summer drinks gathering

Are all the meetings in the hall?

Mostly yes, but we will have some ZOOM meetings where we invite presenters from further afield to talk to us.

Which 'class' will I be placed in?

We have two class groups; Club Class and Advanced Class. All new members start in Club Class for the first year unless you have already gained a Merit Qualification, i.e LRPS etc.

Can I use a mobile phone instead of a camera?

Yes, mobile phone photography is becoming very popular, but for most post-processing skills RAW files are best taken on a digital camera.

What photographic experience do I need to join the club?

None at all . . . we have members at all levels of experience.

Do I have to enter competitions?

No . . . but it is a good way of gaining experience.

Is there a minimum age for joining:

The minimum age is currently 18 years old.

When does the meetings season start?

First Monday in September

What training do you offer for beginners?

We have a programme of Events which include training modules, as well as having a Mentor to give one-to-one help.

What kind of camera do I need?

This really depends on your budget. Come and talk to members for further advise.
