Enter up to TWO PDI images, colour, or monochrome depicting the subject: "Long Exposure”
An image must be captured using a stationary camera, phone, or drone. This means the image should be taken from a single fixed point (x, y, z), pointing in one direction, whether the camera is on a tripod, a gimble, a dynamically positioned drone, or is handheld.
An Astronomical image may be captured using a “tracker”, to avoid star trails. The camera sits on a fixed tripod and moves a very short distance and imperceptibly slowly on the tracker, to follow the rotation of the earth. Hence, the camera remains static relative to the subject of the stars
It is permitted to combine multiple images taken by a camera at one fixed point (x, y, z). As some phone and drone photography achieve long-exposure images in this way.
All these image types may be processed within the usual DCC rules and the constraints outlined below
Exclusions
For this competition, an image produced by Panning and/or ICM is excluded. Note DCC has and will hold other competitions specifically for these.
A composite image taken from more than one fixed point (x, y, z) or from a camera pointing in more than one direction to produce a panorama image is excluded
An image produced by processing a standard image to resemble a long exposure image is excluded.
An image produced by using composite elements from other images or skies other than those present in the image taken at the time is excluded.
The Judge will decide a winner and a runner-up and may also recommend the award of up to three Highly Commended Certificates in each Class.
