‘Guidance, Education, Enjoyment’
Monday 21st July 7.00pm Meet at The Drummond Alms Albury Village
The walk will start at the Drummond Alms pub in the Village of Albury, there is parking on the road near the pub, they will allow us to park in their car park if parking is not available on the road, we will finish at the Drummond Alms for a drink, they have a garden by the little river Tillingbourne, they close at 10pm on a Monday evening.
There is much to see on this walk, some images below illustrate this variety, Interesting traditional buildings and the Albury chimneys in the village, The old Saxon church, open countryside and parkland, heathland, traditional mixed woodlands, the old sunken lanes of surrey, and the new village church.
The full walk is about 2.5 Miles, and includes, footpaths and bridleways, some of which may be encroached upon by brambles and nettles at this time of year. There is one uphill path after we have reached to old Saxon Church.
Footpaths will not be made up, and may include loose stones, sand, roots, styles, and trip hazards so suitable shoes for walking will be required. Maybe a coat if it is a damp evening, and water if hot.
There is a shorter option to return to the village from the old Saxon Church, this is about 1.5 miles in total and all level on footpaths or made up tracks. It may be that if we have taken our time and enjoyed our photography on the way, and it is a hot evening , this is all we will want to do, we can be flexible on the evening.
