‘Guidance, Education, Enjoyment’
TATE PRINT LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

THREE ROUNDS ARE HELD EACH SEASON WHERE MEMBERS IMAGES SCORE POINTS IN EACH ROUND

THE WINNER WITH THE HIGHEST SCORE IN ADVANCED GROUP RECEIVES THE TATE TROPHY

THE WINNER WITH THE HIGHEST SCORE IN CLUB GROUP RECEIVES THE MARGARET DANE TROPHY

This competition is an OPENcompetition, meaning you can enter any subject.

Up to TWO images are allowed per round.

Each image is displayed on a 'mount-board'' to a maximum size of 500mm 400mm

The ‘cut-out’ for the image is usually A4 size but can be up to A3 as long as it is within the mount-board size.

Mount-boards can be purchased in various colours, although white, cream, or black are the most popular. (see Resources on where to purchase these and all tools needed for mounting and image)

All mount-boards mist have a ’backing-board’ (thinner than the mount-board) stick to the back.

Each entered image must have a label completed with the author’s name and image title stuck on the top right hand corner, on the back of the mount board. (See resources to download DCC labels)

Mount-boards can be purchased ‘pre-cut’ to a specific aperture, or you can purchase mount-boards ready to be cut using the correct tools.

NEW RULE ADDED APRIL 2026:

As well as the normal generic mounted prints we allow members to enter "prints only" - no mounting required, just an image printed to a maximum size of an A3 paper (42cm x 29.7cm) that shows the chosen image and a white border around it (which is normally what comes out at printing). We will have a new system to display these images on the stands, with a magnetic backboard and small magnets that will hold each image at its four corners, over the white border mentioned above. Members who enter such prints are asked to write their names and titles close to the edge of the images (at the back of the white borders) so they cannot be seen in the strong light from the presentation easel when they are reviewed by the judge. The upload process, format and sizing in Photoentry remains the same as before and any other members wishing to continue to enter mounted images are free to do so under the same previous rules shared with the club.

The club will hold tuition evenings on how to prepare a printed image to be mounted for these competitions.

If you require any further guidance please contact any member of the committee or speak to your ‘mentor’ if you have requested one.

Each image are to be uploaded via the PhotoEntry system. You will have been sent details of how to log-on to this system when you joined the club. If you need further assistance contact Martin Melesi, dcccomps@yahoo.com

The image name of the print will be the title you enter into the Uploader.
